The point of the Paleo diet is to go back to a diet that our bodies are built to handle. Why re-invent the wheel when there is a known "good" blueprint for a healthy diet from an evolutionary perspective?

If you think about it, our bodies are not equipped to handle man-made foods like trans fats, processed carbs(sugar, white flour, etc.), and highly processed, toxic vegetable oils.

Show me a person that eats large quantities of any of the above items, and I will show you a very unhealthy person.

Agriculture was not was not invented back then, so no grains. There is nothing in grains that you cannot get from other sources. Calorie for calorie, vegetables are much more nutrient dense than grains. Vegetables also have a much lower insulin spike compared to grains. Our Paleo ancestors did not have a problem with diabetes, but we do. Part of that problem is directly related to eating way too much grains.

Also, please do not make any assumptions about any diets. If your assumptions and reality are different, then it could be very damaging to your health. Do your due diligence before making any sort of major dietary changes.

Good luck.
References :
the paleo diet is just quackery (i think vegan raw is too btw).
Humans lived on things they foraged like roots, tubers, berries, fruit, and insects MOSTLY. It was actually very rare to take down any large game. once or twice a year at most. Its totally false to think of humans living as primarily hunters. Tribes were kept alive by women foragers and meat was secondary /supplemental.
good luck with your paleo diet. based on your question your better sense has you questioning it already.
References :
google anthropology/archeology/diet
