How many calories am I burning. How do I calculate calories burnt fr climbing stairs in a certain time.?

I am walking 5 km and climbing 360 stairs in 2 hrs. How many calories am I burning. How do I calculate it. Pls advise.

the best way to calculate is by counting your heart rate i.e pulse rate
when u work out calories (in other words energy) comes from carbs first then muscle proteins and then fat.
when u do intense exercising ur body decides to choose fat over the rest bcos fats is the best and consistent source.
so do an intense work out and count ur pulse….
if its >155-165/min it means u r burning ur fat.and it shud remain there for atleast 20 min

I heard on the Biggest Loser that walking is great because it burns about the same amount of calories as running, just because you are going the same distance, is that true.
What about metabolism speed after running and after walking? Is there a big difference in boosting metabolism in each exercise?

The only real advantage to running is you can cover more distance in a shorter time. If you only do 10 mins exercise then running will burn more calories as you’ll go further. However if you do 10 miles then running or walking are basically the same but the running can cause impact injuries.

I’m eating around 1200 calories a day and I jog for about 20-30 minutes a day. I keep reading you need to burn more calories than you eat to lose weight. So my question is do I have to burn 1200 calories a day just to lose weight? Thanks

Yes. When demand is greater than input the body will begin to "eat" itself for fuel. However, you don’t need to burn all 1200 calories in a single jog. You are burning calories constantly. Even thinking does this.
