Tuesday, March 9th, 2010Pregnancy Weight Gain- How Much Does Your Diet/Exercise Effect It?
Friday, March 5th, 2010I am days shy of 26 weeks and have gained 21 pounds. Some say that is too much seeing as how the baby only weighs a pound or two right now. But I have read on multiple sights its 5 pounds for first trimester and a pound a week there after, which puts me really close to where I should be. RIGHT?
Any how I do exercise and eat fairly healthy. Will I be able to make sure I don’t gain TOO much weight or does your body just do what it does?
I think it varies depending on different people. I myself am 21 weeks pregnant and I have only gained 5 pounds. My doctor says that I am doing fine and my baby is perfectly healthy. But I also have my best friend who is 23 weeks pregnant and she has gained around 20 pounds and they tell her the same thing. So I would say as long as your are not to concerned and your doctor isn’t concerned then you are fine. I know that I have read on many different websites about weight gain during pregnancy and if you look at whether you are over-, under-, or average weight, it will tell you how much weight you should gain. But then again I have also read that after your first trimester is over you are supposed to gain a pound a week. So I have heard about what you said. I do hope this helps a little. Good Luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!
