Is it bad to have candy or cookies once in a while if you are on a diet?

Friday, August 27th, 2010

I havent had junk food in a while except for icecream once in a while. I only eat about 1000 calories a day and I exercise everyday. I am on a swimteam and swim 2 hours everyday and I go to the gym or bike ride also. Is it bad to have candy or cookies once in a while? Does it make you gain weight? Thanks!

definetly not. It will make it so you wont feel the need for bad stuff too much, and you will be less likely to binge. also, you should eat at least 1200, thats minimum calorie intake, below that, your metabolism actually slows down.

I am having a hard time finding or creating healthy snacks and i usually break my diet due to this any ideas?

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

i am usually good at maintaining a healthy eating regimen but i am having a hard time creating healthy meals or snacks, i am sick of the same old lettuce and tuna or lettuce and chicken and the same old turkey sandwiches, i eat small meals every 3 too four hours and i have a good gym regimen but im getting sick of the same food and lately i have been breaking my Diet eating cookies and baked good which i should have once a week or so im just looking for an extra spice in my diet. any ideas?

My favorites: yogurt with fruit, peanut butter on toast, dark chocolate, cheese and mushroom omelette, different low sugar whole grain cereals with soy milk, sushi, lean steak, vegetable stir fry, tacos, protein bars (good substitute for candy bar), oat meal with raisins, baked apples with cinnamon and a scoop of ice cream, mozzarella and marinara with whole-wheat noodles, graham crackers, sweet potato fries, shrimp and popcorn with zero cal butter spray!

Trying to diet but my parents keep buying pie and cookies and pudding..?

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

<.< I told them i’m trying to Diet
and i’m only 15
i ask my parents to get fruit and what not
buuutt nooo they just buy tons of candy
and pie
and pudding -_-
mostly pudding and candy >.>
but do you peoples know how hard it is to eat healthy when your mom makes cookies pretty much daily?
sooo any suggestions to help me out?

Well, just ask them to buy YOU something healthy such as fruits and vegatables. If they deny you fruit and vegetables then they are not really good parents.

How does the cookie diet work?

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

I’ve been hearing about a "cookie diet" and instead of making assumptions I was wondering how it works?

The cookie diet is simply a meal replacement. According to the R&D Diet Cookie website:

"R&D Diet Cookie provides a meal replacement cookie engineered for rapid weight loss by eliminating hunger and cravings. The cookie provides the dieter an opportunity to stop yo-yo- dieting by quickly losing the weight. Quick weight loss is the best motivator and recent studies show it is healthier to lose the weight quickly and keep it off rather than going through the cycles of losing and gaining that usually accompany slow weight loss."

So…
1. You go on a low calorie Diet (around 800/day) with the help of the cookie.
2. You lose weight quickly (because of the low calories, not the cookie) and stay on that phase of the diet as long as you want/need to because the cookie eliminates hunger and cravings.

Also according to the website, what you have learned during this time is:

1. Portion control - you’ve learned you don’t have to eat all the time because you feel full, satisfied, not craving.
2. You have taken control of your eating, food doesn’t control you anymore.

The website advises, after you lose the weight, in order to maintain your weight loss you either:

1. Incorporate the cookies, as a meal or snack substitute, into your daily eating in order to stay in control… 1 or 2 daily, or
2. Eat a healthy diet and use the cookies occasionally when you lose control of your eating.

I want to start the cookie diet. But I want to buy cheap cookies around 30 dollars??website?

its a waste of money if you pay even $1 for it.

What’s a better diet: Smart for Life Cookies or the Hollywood Cookie Diet?

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

I’ve heard good and bad about both but I want to know which one really works.

Neither. The best "Diet" is just eating healthy food. Lean protein, healthy carbs, and healthy fat.
