Ideas for a research project on a fad diet?

I need to come up with a fad Diet for a project and write a paper about it. I’d like it to be something slightly controversial and somewhat popular but nothing way too far fetched. Any Ideas?

Google the maple syrup/lemon juice cleanse. I tried it, its gross, and I couldnt do it. But lots of celebs do it before an award show or something.

Today I have started the Mayo Clinic Diet (The Fad Diet) not the actual Mayo diet?

I was wondering if anyone else has started this diet also ? If so, I would love to have a support partner or group. Please share motivation tips if anyone has been sucessful on this Diet…..remember I really need a support partner !!!! thanks

Do waster your money, spend your money on natural and fresh organic things: Try this way of eating, it gives us alot of energy and is good for you: • The story is you have to change the way you eat??? Try switching to soy products, they are much healthier for you than regular red meat and milk… Morning Star is the best one I am seen and eaten.. Work out 3-5/7days a week moderately cardio 30minutes to 2hours a day.. Watch you fats and sugar and no junk food or fried, white bread, tuna is good, fish and soy.. you’ll be fine…Do a calorie counter everyday and I think if you stay under 1500-1800 calories a day low sugar and fat it will be fine.. lots of water, veggies and fruit… Soy joy and Pria bars are also good.. Kashi products are another source. Whole oats no sugar maybe a little bit of honey… Soy milk no regular,, cut down in like I said saturated fats,, white breads and junk food,, red meat is another one you should stay away from.. Like 4-5 small meals a day to get your system going.. Example: Breakfast may 1 piece wheat toast with a poached egg whites and fruit,, mid morning snack a bar or 8oz can tuna with water, lunch maybe smart and balance pnut butter with a piece of bread, fruit or soy yogurt, mid afternoon snack,, veggies maybe carrots and celery, maybe soy bar, dinner,, fish, soy meat, rice or potatoes and mid evening snack air popped popcorn with smart balance butter… switch it up sometimes. Like a nice leafy green salad, with all sorts of veggies, cranberries and low cal dressing. smart balance is good rather than real butter, soy milk vanilla is also anther one, bananas, strawberries melons something like that.. Try eating about 200-300 calories per small meal.,, try almonds and other sources of foods,, stay away from frying and saturated fats.. Look at the containers you are getting your food from.. see how much extra crap is going into your body….. I am 5′7 and 166 and have lost about 40 pounds in the last 4months and this works for me.. No red meat and very little chicken mostly fish… count the calories daily, work out hard…There is never a magic potion in loosing weight,,, Stay away from FAST Foods except Subway,,, Watch what you eat when you go to a restaurant,, you choose tell them exactly what you want…change the way you eat that’s all.. It’s a life change…It’s a mind set,, I bike 10-15miles 3times a week and try to step 30-45minutes the rest of the time,, but you do what you can do whether it is walking or running,, just get up off the couch and do something….Good luck and binding on sweets once in a while is ok,, just don’t go over board… if you want to know more about my diet let me know.. If doing it for 4 days or so, whats the best fad or soup-shake diet to do?

ONLY A SUMMER Diet

ok so grab the biggest water bottle you can get and fill it up with water and ice and grab pickless lol yeahh i know but there ZERO calories! and eat that. like fer lunch and dinner but like do sometyhing dont just sit and eat at the table go on the computer talk on the phone sumthing that will take ur mind off junk food.
im 13 and idc what u say but it works! =)

If I follow a fad diet for 3-4 weeks, then switch to a low calorie diet, can I maintain the weight loss?

I am doing the South Beach Diet right now (Phase 1) which is very restrictive. I was considering staying on it for 3-4 weeks then switching to 1200 calories/dy to lose the rest of my weight. If I do this, will I be able to maintain the weight loss? Once I have loss all my weight, I plan on continuing to workout about 4x/week.

19lbs down 31 to go.

i agree just eat healthy and work out not do that plan its not safe

One of the most important messages I try to teach my readers in this world of heavy confusion is that your diet doesn’t need to conform to any of the fad diets… you don’t need to go “low carb” or “low fat”, or high or low anything for that matter to be successful in losing enough body fat to get lean enough to be able to see your abs. I like to try to simplify things for my readers. I think that balance is the key to success along with eating a diet that is made up of nutrient dense foods in their natural state (as unprocessed as possible).

In general, it is the heavy processing of foods that makes it wreak havoc inside our bodies. Most foods in their natural unprocessed state are inherently good for us. Of course there are always exceptions… a salad of poison ivy leaves is “natural and unprocessed” but certainly would not be good for us!

I’ll leave your readers with a couple of the most important aspects of nutrition and diet that help to get you lean for life (and have any chance of getting those abs to show)…

1. Get enough quality protein in the daily diet - not only does it have a higher thermic effect than carbs and fat (so you burn more calories digesting it), but it also creates satiety so your hunger is satisfied longer. Plus it’s a building block for maintaining and building lean muscle… And remember that the amount of lean muscle you carry is one of the main factors for controlling your metabolism.

2. Think fiber! When it comes to carbs, make sure that almost all of your carbohydrate intake is from higher fiber sources like vegetables, fruits, and high fiber unrefined grains. Try to avoid refined sugars and refined grains as that is one of the main reasons so many people struggle with body fat. I personally don’t eat many grains as I prefer to get most of my carbs from veggies and fruits, but I am a bit of a fan of sprouted grains. I generally recommend looking for carbohydrate sources that have at least 2-3 grams of fiber per each 10 grams of total carbs. Remember that fiber helps fill you up and also slows down the glycemic response of the foods you eat, all beneficial for getting lean.

3. Don’t be afraid to eat fat! Many people try to go way too low on their fat intake in their diet and this can negatively affect hormone levels in your body as well as causing more cravings. Try to eat enough healthy fats daily. Good sources are all nuts and seeds, nut butters, avocados, olive oil, organic meats and eggs, coconuts and virgin coconut oil. On that note, saturated fats from tropical oils are VERY misunderstood, even by many nutritionists and other health professionals. Yes they are composed highly of saturated fats, but are actually beneficial (but that’s way beyond the scope of this article).

4. Avoid the two worst things in our food supply at ALL COSTS:

*artificial trans fats from margarines, shortening, and hydrogenated oils that are in most processed foods

*high fructose corn syrup, which is in almost all sweetened products on the market

Again, if you avoid processed foods, it becomes easy to avoid these two worst offenders in our food supply.

I always contend that once you get a handle on these 4 main points of your Diet detailed above, the rest starts to take care of itself as you gain control over your appetite, blood sugar levels, hormone levels, etc. It all falls into place, and you eventually gain total control over how lean you want to get. Gain control of this part of your life, and those abs may be showing in no time!

I once found this fad Diet ( it did not really work) but i really like the juice. I can not find it anywhere I remember it had like lemon juice orange and i think some honey i don’t really remember what else. i know it was suppose to be in it.
I am not wanting this to loose fast weight. i just like the drink.
