Help with making up the perfect diet?

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

I’d like to eat a ‘perfect’ diet for a few weeks and see how it makes me feel, ie getting enough fibre, protein, calories, not much salt etc. I’ve sat and looked up nutritional guidelines for everything but its massively confusing trying to create enough meal plans to last. Can anybody help me? Is there a website which gives set meal plans for a healthy Diet?

I’m female, 18, vegetarian, and 5 foot 5 if that’s important.

Thanks

There are five major food groups, Carbohydrates (Pasta, Potatoes, Bread), Protein (Meat,Fish,Egg)
Fruit and Vegetables, Milk and Dairy products and Foods containing Fats and sugars. You should avoid the last one because that is the unhealthy one and would not help your perfect diet, have it occasionally. And dont dismiss fat and sugary foods altogether. Eat a good breakfast with simple carbs for the day, and include some fruit in there. Eat a lunch of Fruit and veg, simple carbs and protein. And the same for dinner. Include healthy snacks.

This might help

Good luck!

What’s a good diet that will help me bulk up?

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

I am working out every morning, any thing i can avoid? any thing i should eat?

eat A LOT. take in 1g of protein per 1lb of body weight and eat 6 times a day in moderately small portions. basically eat more than what you’re used to so you have the energy to get through the day and the required material to build your muscles.

Can someone help me come up with a diet plant to lose weight?

Any help will be beneficial.

Hello,

A good diet plan would include leafy veggies, fruits, lean proteins and whole grains. But really it depends on your body weight and height. I could not randomly give you a Diet plan without more information.

i am 13 y/o boy 5ft 11 looking for a workout/diet to help me gain muscle and lose weight?

a list of what i should avoid eating/eat

Gain muscle first: not only is it easier than trying fad Diets and an hour and a half of aerobic exercise every day, but it’s also more effective. The more muscle mass you have, the more spare sugars and fats get utilized to support your muscle mass.

Consider the following clinical evidence to reach your maximum potential.

MAXIMIZING HEIGHT AND BONE DENSITY

1) Take a daily multivitamin with micronutrients. See below for recommended micronutrients to improve height.
2) Take 1000mg (1g) of calcium carbonate supplement daily.
3) Take 3g of GABA (an inexpensive amino acid supplement) at least once daily to quadruple baseline growth hormone levels.
4) Engage in regular low-risk vibrational physical activity, such as plyometric training, volleyball, basketball, short-to-medium range jogging.
5) Practice meditation for 20-30 minutes regularly around dusk in order to reduce stress and improve hormonal profile for growth (cortisol can inhibit growth).

PubMed primary clinical journal articles:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18091016 - 3g GABA quadruples growth hormone levels.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15755856 - We conclude that calcium carbonate supplementation of adolescent boys increased skeletal growth, resulting in greater stature and bone mineral acquisition.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16426962 - The micronutrient-fortified beverage was beneficial in promoting growth and decreasing duration of common illnesses among middle-class residential schoolchildren who had adequate energy and protein intakes.

MAXIMIZING MUSCLE HYPERTROPHY

1) Take 3g of GABA at least once per day. (already linked above) - 3g GABA QUADRUPLES growth hormone levels!
2) Post-Training Meditation - http://www.ergo-log.com/meditationhormones.html
3) Have lean protein for breakfast: eggs, steak, yogurt and/or a protein shake
4) Stock low-fat, low-carb, protein rich foods and snacks such as yogurt, milk, hard-boiled eggs, lean marinated chicken breasts and unprocessed, unsalted nuts - make your own lean & clean trail mix with almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, dried fruits and yogurt or dark chocolate. Don’t let your baseline blood sugar trough while you’re recovering from workouts; keep feeding the furnace with protein at least once every two hours.
5) Avoid drinking any form of cola, at all. It inhibits protein synthesis, which means you won’t grow much muscle while drinking it. http://www.ergo-log.com/milkcola.html Drink milk and fresh-brewed green tea instead of colas, soft drinks or alcohol. "Improved endurance capacity following chocolate milk consumption compared with 2 commercially available sport drinks."
6) Use a twice-daily combinatorial protein and ALA supplement offset from workout times (i.e., morning and night) but drink creatine solution during resistance training
7) Take quercetin to reduce post-workout inflammation and boost mitochondrial biogenesis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quercetin
8) Learn the basics of training if you haven’t already—http://exercise.about.com/cs/exerciseworkouts/a/weight101.htm—and learn how high-quality rest is at least as important as exercise for anabolism
9) Use clinically proven, evidence-based weightlifting techniques including muscle confusion, eccentric loading and optimal intensity for maximum ROI. Concentrate especially on "the big three": squats, deadlifts and bench press, for maximum returns for effort.
10) Keep up-to-date about muscle and fitness by bookmarking the best, most objective online sources (PUBMED, etc.) and mix in alternatives such as hemp protein, vibrational and TENS/EMS techniques ( http://www.medword.com/MedwordStore/PCP/EMS_truth.html ) from time to time to see whether you get good results

Will 2 hours of dancing a day with a healthy diet help me lose weight?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

I do a bit of dancing everyday and have a very healthy Diet. Will this help me lose weight if I keep going with it?

I am also about to start running and swimming…. will this help too?
Karen - haha nah im not overweight. I’m actually quite skinny (in some places). I think the problem is that I have flab on my stomach and not abs! And my thighs are kinda big.. (only kind of though). Like I said before… I’m not too fat. I just need to lose some weight and get fit. :)
Depends on whether you’re overweight or not to start with but it should do yep! Dancing, running and swimming all excellent exercises, I thouroughly approve of your choices :-)

i have to change my diet…HELP?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

Okay i get really sick on my periods (like i can hardly get up and threwing up everywhere)
Well my doctor gave me birth control and told me i need to drastically change my diet
Well i may live in NY but my family is from GA and cooks soul food
So how do i ask my mom to change it??
because she heard the doctor but she says he doesn’t know what he’s talking about
so what are some little things i can eat or drink to help me out?
also why won’t my mom listen and be like okay???

no i’m not fat i’m 5′4 135pounds
(sorry i know i posted this question but i need more)
no i honestly don’t want to be on a all veg diet lol
(no offense to anybody that does it)

OMG! I had something like this when I was young. Mine was that I had such horrible cramps I’d get sick and toss. The doctor didn’t give me birth control pills. He thought the kind of hormones in them may make hormone balance worse. He said to take soy pills. So I took them, and they helped alot. I was like "thank God I don’t throw up and have pain like that anymore". Since I started studying nutrition I’ve learned that flaxseed and flaxseed oil (found in pill form) can help with hormones. As far as Diet, I would suggest lotsof veggies and fruits. Eat some grains, nuts, beans, and/or tofu for protein. Fruits seem to help me when I’m on my period. I love watermelon (it has iron, which you can lose on your period) and strawberries. Strawberries are know to help with periods. Also chamomile tea.
Hope I helped some.

Could anyone help me with a diet plan QUICK?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

Okay, I am 13 years old . I am turning 14 in December . I weigh on my scale and im 165 , i dont look fat but im starting to a lot , i hate it . I started exercising thats good , but i dont know what foods to eat , and i have no self control . I need a Diet plan , and i need it quick . I want to get fit before school starts.

Eat less, exercise more ! Its that simple. Just imagine how attractive you will be when you get to your ideal weight! so, when you want to eat more just think…do I really need to? don’t eat junk food, sweet stuff etc that really tastes nice but just puts the pounds on. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables, drink lots of non sugary drinks as they fill you up and join a club where exercise is part of the fun, whatever appeals to you most.

Low-Carb Diet Help Please….What shall I Eat Instead?

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

I’m thinking of going on a low-carb Diet, So I can loose weight quicker. But I’m not sure what things I can replace the carbs with, because breakfast is mainly carbs e.g. Toast and Cereal and then there are so many other dishes containing carbs which would be difficult to replace.

Give me some suggestions of what to eat instead please!! BTW I’m a Vegetarian, so I don’t eat any meat or fish.

I am on a low carb/low sugar diet because my body doesn’t regulate my blood sugar levels properly and it causes headaches and dizzy spells… it was hard at first to adjust to it, but the most important thing is to eat a lot of protein, and a good amount of *healthy* fats. I am allergic to wheat, beef, eggs and dairy, so breakfast is my most difficult meal, but I make a protein smoothie with soy milk, soy protein powder, frozen fruit and peanut butter every morning and LOVE it! As a vegetarian, I would suggest eating lots of beans since they’re high in protein, fiber and other nutrients. Also, cheese and greek yogurt are good sources of protein, healthy fat and calcium.
