Pretty much, yes! Although it is very hard to do, don't drink too much water though because that can be bad for you too. Of course it is very difficult to drink that much.
References :
Yes, except for the implication of using bottled water. Yes, I know that you said "a bottle of water". I would suggest, however, filling it from the tap. Tap water is much more heavily regulated than bottled water is and is likely to be of higher quality. If you don't care for the chlorine taste, either keep a jug of water in the refrigerator (the chlorine dissipates) or run the water through a carbon filter. Using tap water is cheaper and "greener" than buying bottled water.
References :
However I keep a bottle of Vodka at my desk at work,
And an ice cold beer readily available here at home.

Water is definitely a good way to curb snack cravings. It obviously won't replace a meal, though.

The whole idea that water is something people are constantly missing, or that we need to drink 8 glasses a day, is a myth. People live quite healthily on much less water than that, because the kidneys are capable of regulating water output very precisely - the more you drink, the more you pee, etc.

So, I'd say drink water if it makes you feel better, but don't feel like you *need* to drink water. Trust your body to tell you what it needs.
References :
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/04/02/eveningnews/main3991145.shtml?source=mostpop_story

To a degree, yes it's true, it also helps keep your skin(largest organ of your body) fresh, clean and youthful.

However don't drink too much as it can also be dangerous

Really, really true. Often people don't know what's 'wrong' if they feel unwell, or have a headache - and most often, they are just dehydrated.
References :
is this true about drinking water?
As well as prolonging your life and keeping your internal organs (liver, kidney etc) clean and healthy, it also speeds up your metabolism and aids weight loss!

So always keep a bottle of water on your desk at work, and readily available at home. Water curbs your appetite, so a glass of water before a meal will stop you from overeating.

Sometimes the body mistakes thirst for hunger, and so you eat when you should really be drinking water! Keep yourself fully hydrated and your hunger will disappear.
