I am pregnant… and I have had "round ligament pain" for 15 out of my 20 weeks.
Or at least the 6 doctors and 3 ultrasound techs tell me that it is round ligament pain. I am dying here. I have heavy cramping and my uterus feels like it will "fall out" whenever I stand, also my stomach muscles are sore and the pains are strong and sharp. I have gotten the "best" support belt, and I have taken so many different medicines that my doctors as prescribed but NOTHING WORKS.
I am almost 21 weeks and all the other women I know have said that the pain should stop any day. My doctors just tell me that I am going to have a miserable pregnancy. I have stopped all the medicines because none have helped. I am not working and most of my days are spent on the couch.
Who are these women that exercise, walk, run, ride horses and have active pregnancies? AND WHY AND I NOT ONE OF THEM???
The nausea finally stopped 2 weeks ago- thank God.

Poor girl!! I had round ligament pain off and on for about 2 weeks very early on in pregnancy and then it stopped. Then I had morning sickness for about 5 weeks and that went away as well. Now it’s back and rib pain and I’m convinced that this baby is going to come out clingy to one of my ribs. I wish I was one of those women who could exercise, walk, run, ride horses and have an active pregnancy but I’m too exhausted and too sore to even think of that. My friend’s wife is 8 months pregnant and still plays in a volleyball league once a week. What’s up with that? I can barely turn over in bed, let alone spike a ball. :-) I’m hoping for your sanity’s sake that the pain goes away very soon. I feel so bad for you sweetie. :-( Keep your chin up! You’re half way there!

I am 23 w 2 d and I still get it. I dont know why people are telling you it will stop any day because as long as the baby is growing you will get it. It might get less painful. For me, I was having mild period type cramping, every week, and stretching pain that went into my leg, and it seemed to stop for a few days and then come back. it seems as the baby has its growth spurts is when I feel it most. I had a check up 2 days ago and told my doc about a pain i was having on my left lower abdominal area i figured was due to constipation, and he said it could be but was more likely to be ligament pain, and he told me it will only get worse the more your uterus grows. Not trying to scare you. Some women just stretch easier than others, if it is your first baby it can be worse, many reasons. Ask for a second opinion. And was it your og-gyn who said you will have a miserable pregnancy? I am sure there are things you can do and exercises or stretches that may help. Good luck! Hope it gets better for you!

I am in 17th weeks. I have had it at least since week 8 along with tummy ache which comes and goes. One thing I suggest is not to lay on the couch all day. Although you may feel that you have no energy to exercise, start with a walk. Walk a mile or two (as much as you can take in the beginning) and you would feel much better. Active muscles are healthy muscles and exercise also releases endorphins (feel good hormones). I also use a stationary bike at home, 5-10 min at stretch at low setting.
The other option is to get into prenatal yoga. It prepares you for natural birth and makes your back and abdominal muscles ready to bear the weight of your uterus/baby through 3rd trimester.
    Good luck!
