Is my diet healthy enough to lose weight?

What I usually eat (some of it varies) Im trying to lose weight, lost 20 pounds and hit a plateau! Gotta eat even healthier now.

Breakfast - 1/2 cup oatmeal and fruit.
Snack - low fat triscuit crackers, reduced fat wheat thins, or fruit.
Lunch - half turkey sandwich on wheat with veggies, healthy request soup, or low fat pasta salad (small serving)
Snack - Banana, Peach, or raw carrots or broccoli
Dinner - 1/2 sandwich, or soup, or smartones/lean cuisine frozen dinner. (I never eat dinner after about 6:00)
And if i get hungry at night ill eat some plain popcorn or fruit

Is this ok? I occasionally throw in a kashi cookie or granola bar. I used to eat fast food everyday. Then I stopped drinking coke and eating out, and only ate food from the store and lost 20 pounds almost effortlessly. Ive hit a plateau though.. will this Diet be ok? I want to lose 2 pounds a week. I weigh 160 (starting weight was 181) and im 5 foot 6 inches. I was eating 1500 calories a day for the 7 weeks that I lost 20 pounds, now ive gone down to 1000-1200.

that sounds really good and not extreme. congrats on your weight loss. it wont be hard to lose the rest of the weight, but it will be more difficult than before. your food choices sound healthy. try to limit junk food which you probably have. make sure you work out a lot though. do something that is fun because you are more likey to stick with it. i love trampolining and i just got a trampoline and i find it so fun just to learn new things. i am getting good exercise at the same time. if you want, you can lift some weights or do some strength training like crunches, sit ups and push ups, but these wont make you lose weight right away, but after a while when you gain more muscle weight, you will start burning more calories than before. good luck!

•Try switching to soy products, they are much healthier for you than regular red meat and milk… Morning Star is the best one I am seen and eaten.. Work out 3-5/7days a week moderately cardio 30minutes to 2hours a day.. Watch you fats and sugar and no junk food or fried, white bread, tuna is good, fish and soy.. you’ll be fine…Do a calorie counter everyday and I think if you stay under 1800 calories a day low sugar and fat it wil lbe fine.. lots of water, veggies and fruit… Soy joy and Pria bars are also good.. Kashi products are another source. Whole oats no sugar maybe a little bit of honey… Soy milk no regular,, cut down in like I said saturated fats,, white breads and junk food,, red meat is another one you should stay away from.. Like 4-5 small meals a day to get your system going.. Example: Breakfast may 1 piece wheat toast with a poached egg and fruit,, mid morning snack a bar or 8oz can tuna with water, lunch maybe smart and balance pnut butter with a piece of bread, fruit or soy yogurt, mid afternoon snack,, veggies maybe carrots and celery, maybe soy bar, dinner,, fish, soy meat, rice or potatoes and mid evening snack air popped popcorn with smart balance butter… switch it up sometimes.. smart balance is good rather than real butter, soy milk vanilla is also anther one, bananas, strawberries melons something like that.. Try eating about 200-300 calories per small meal… I am 5′7 and 166 and have lost about 40 pounds in the last 4months and this works for me.. No red meat and very little chicken mostly fish… count the cals, work out hard… I bike and step….Good luck

Hi, the reason you lost so much weight so easily was because your body was used to getting a hilarious amount of simple carbs, once you stopped consuming so much your body adjusted to the amount of calories it was taking in, and could not store fat so fast, so you had to burn some for energy. Your diet at the moment still seems quite carb reliant though, I would cut back on the carbs more, and swap out high gi carbs with brown rice, brown pasta and oatmeal.

    Best of luck
