Is it bad for a type 2 diabetic to drink diet soda?

Does diet soda somehow affect insulin levels, even though it has no sugar? What about a caffeine-free diet soda, such as Diet 7-UP?

Diet sodas do not affect your blood sugar levels. i still dont recommend them, however, especially dark colored sodas as they leech phosphorus from your body and are a contributing factor in osteoporosis. lighter colored soda can lead to digestional upset and gas. but, no, diet sodas do not affect sugar levels.

Diet drinks do not affect blood sugar levels, nor do they interfere with insulin control. However, they do contain artificial sweeteners (rather than sugar) which can have a laxative effect if too much is taken in.

No diet sodas have the artificial sweeteners that can give you tummy troubles. Those end in the letters "Tol ".
    Diet soda is just fine.
