How Can you Lower a High Blood Pressure?

If you have a high blood pressure than the risks to develop a heart disease, or to have a stroke or a heart attack seriously increase. If you’ve had high blood pressure for long, and the blood pressure’s values are much higher than the normal ones then the risk is very high and you must do something to lower your high blood pressure.
Millions of Americans have blood pressure, mostly because the western diet is very rich in fat foods and sodium, which can raise the blood pressure levels over the normal values. Stress is an important factor that can affect the blood pressure directly, and unfortunately many people’s lives and jobs are full of stress.

The blood pressure is the pressure that is inside your arteries and veins, or the force with which the blood pushes against the arteries and veins’ walls. Blood pressure is recorded in 2 values, and its normal value is 120/80. The first number represents the pressure in the arteries when the heart contracts and pushes the blood out, and the second number is the pressure when the heart is filling with blood.
It can be measured by doctors with the help of a special cuff that they wrap around your arm and which is connected to a stethoscope. They can listen to the blood flowing through the arteries and measure its pressure this way. In order to diagnose a high blood pressure several measurements are needed because the pressure can be higher if you are worried about something or if you just played tennis, but it cools down in short time, so if you only have high blood pressure once and then the values are normal there’s nothing to worry about, but if the values are high all the time then you have high blood pressure.

If you want to lower your high blood pressure, you can do it either with medication and drugs, or with natural treatment. Some people prefer to combine natural treatment with medication.

In order to lower high blood pressure naturally, you have to change your lifestyle and diet. The most important things are to loose weight if you are overweight, quit drinking alcohol and smoking, and to start exercising regularly. Then you need to reduce the amount of sodium that enters your body. Sodium can seriously increase the blood pressure over the normal levels, so reducing it is highly recommended. Salt contains a lot of sodium, one teaspoon of salt has twice the normal amount of sodium that is needed by the body, so try to use as little salt as you can when you cook and eat.
Also eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, and other aliments that are rich in fibers. They can help lower high blood pressure.

If you choose to lower blood pressure with the help of medication then consult your doctor to find out which are the best drugs for you. You must go through some clinical trials and afterwards you will receive a prescription. The medication prescribed is usually needed the entire lifetime.

However, if you change your lifestyle and Diet to, you may become cured of high blood pressure and then you can stop taking the medication. You will still have to check your blood pressure regularly.

How to lower high blood pressure in healthy teen?
I’m 16 and have inherited high blood pressure from my mom. They have ran numerous tests(kidneys, blood, urine, etc) and have found all to be normal. I am athletic and eat rather healthy compared to most teenagers. I rarely ever drink soda and never add salt to my food. What are some ways to lower my blood pressure? Eat more fruits and vegetables? Drink more water? I REALLY do not want to live the rest of my life taking a pill to keep my blood pressure low.

Try increasing your exercise and reducing your stress levels by not worrying. Meditation is good for lowering blood pressure too.

Keep doing what you are doing.

Ask your doctor for a 24 hour blood pressure test to confirm if you really do have high blood pressure or not - some people have high readings on a one off test but normal readings at other times in the day.

Search for information about the "DASH" diet on the web or check out http://www.bloodpressurehigh.com

    Hope this helps

Try going to see a chiropractor. Yes a doctor of chiropractic. the nervous system is the master system in the body. If there is a dysfunction in the way it communicates it can cause somatic problems (problems in the body). Check youtube for chiropractic and high blood pressure if this link does not work. Stay safe and be healthy.
