You ever notice how rude some people are on the Raw Feeding forums?
I feed a prey model Diet and I’m a member of numerous raw feeding groups. Raw feeding is a varied topic and they are many ways to do it. So, have you ever noticed how many people are super opinionated about it? What are your experiences?
I have noticed that people are very defense in regards to what they feed their dog(s) even for people who feed kibble. I would try and ignore the rudeness because one can still gain valuable information. People are not trying to be rude they just think their way is better and superior then someone else which becomes the case for really the majority of situation/topics.

YES!!!! I totally agree with you!!!
i do not feed exclusively raw and people are on me like crazy about this…
there is so much information and everyone thinks their way is the only right way and it drives me crazy!!!
my dog is doing wonderful on a diet of high quality grain free dog food combined with some raw…but apparently some people think it should be all or nothing….

my family had a dog once who went mad because my parents gave him raw chicken skins all the time. it wasn’t his regular diet and they didn’t know it would cause him to become viciously mean to everybody either. my dad ended up putting him down because of how bad he got. ever since then we have always cooked any kind of meat before we give it to our dogs. we even cook the gizzards and organs before giving it to them. a lot of people go by hear-say not so much experience. i was really little at the time but i do remember the dog and my parents have always told me to cook it thoroughly for them. but i think if it is extremely fresh raw meat that it should not be a problem as long as it doesn’t have anything on or in it. think of wolves when they make a kill… that kind of extremely fresh raw meat.

Haven’t really noticed since I don’t hang out on many raw feeding forums, but guess what? that’s life. you go to a forum about ANYTHING and you will find various cliques and rude people. Go to a different forum.
"my family had a dog once who went mad because my parents gave him raw chicken skins all the time." Your dog may have went "mad" but chicken skins had nothing to do with it.
"it wasn’t his regular diet and they didn’t know it would cause him to become viciously mean to everybody either." There is NO scientific basis to back this up. Raw doesn’t make does bloodthirsty. Your dog was unstable.
doesn’t matter if its extremely fresh or store bought. Your dog had problems long before chicken came into his diet and it certainly didn’t bring it out in him. Odds are your already poor tempered dog started to become possessive of his food because raw is of more value and hell tastes better than kibble. that’s genetics and training NOT diet.

I still have a lot to learn about raw diets before ever attempting one. I was going to check out some forums for some help, but I think I’ll avoid it now! People forget that not everyone knows everything ABOUT everything. Different people have different things to offer.
Thanks for mentioning the "prey model diet." It isn’t something I’ve heard of, but I’m very interested to learn more about it!

Not really, I do go on a forum that’s about everything from showing dogs, grooming, food, and just normal chatting. They’ve only ever been lovely, and helpful. I got some good advice on raw feeding.
