Diet help — lose 11O pounds fast?

Can someone who knows something about diets help me out?

My friend’s friend wants to lose 11O pounds,I asked her what her weight was,her height && all of that so far I got:

• 5′2
• 14 years-old
• About 22O pounds

She wants to lose weight fast — like really fast (I don’t think she can do it super fast,it’ll take some time). && She wants to lose it all in like 2 months;; she’s been watching The Biggest Loser lately && she’s convinced if they can lose like 2O pounds a week, she can do it too(she won’t listen when I tell that they have doctors && stuff making sure that its okay for them to work out hard like that.
What’s the best Diet for her? I really wanna helpp her out because its hurting her confidence && self-esteem pretty badly :( I want to help her on losing the weight, but I’m pretty clueless on diets && things of that nature.

[ THIS IS REALLY FOR MY F R I E N D,NOT ME.]

she’s going to have to do a few simple things…

1) get her heart rate up 15 minutes a day, at least.

i find that an elliptical machine is best for me. if she can’t do that, going for a walk for 15 minutes will work. just get MOVING! and moving is great! weightlifting is great. i suggest low weights with high repetition–as in, lower weight but lifting and moving more. she can even do this with something so simple as a water bottle. just a little bit every day, until she starts to feel her arms "burn" a little, will go a very long way.

2) cut back on calorie intake.

instead of three large meals, four-to-five small ones will work best. cut sweets (including honey!), sugary sodas (limit diet sodas to one or two a week), salty foods, and white bread. in fact, limit bread intake altogether. if you have to, go whole-wheat. fats are very important, but should be very limited. there is a difference between a good fat and a bad fat. meat should be limited; and servings should be smaller, at about an ounce per serving. up the veggie intake–corn, however, is a no-no since it’s so high in carbohydrates! carrots, sugar snap peas (my favorite!), broccoli, etc, whether raw or cooked, are so good to eat. two servings should be had with each meal. i also like to eat three small apples a day–one at breakfast, one for an afternoon snack, and one just after dinner, with a teaspoon of reduced-fat peanut butter. i look forward to that all day–yum. =)

think of a serving of every food group (except for fats) as taking up the palm of your hand. i’m 24 years old and trying to lose weight, and i have budgeted 1200 calories a day for myself, and i work off 200-300 calories a day in exercise. 3000-3500 calories works out to be a whole pound of body fat–so if i go at the rate i’m going, i’ll be losing 1-2 pounds a week. it works great. granted–your friend is young, so 1200 calories might be unhealthy. she should ask a nutritionist (perhaps the school nurse?) for guidance on what she should consider as a healthy calorie intake for losing weight. see below for a way she can track exactly how many calories she is eating.

3) more fluids!

UP the water intake! she needs to be drinking, minimum, eight glasses a day. tea is also good–but not sweetened. if you have to sweeten it, use splenda (no more than two packets), or a piece of lemon.

4) write down everything you eat.

i think that the nutrisystem website has a GREAT way of tracking your calories. i’ve inlcuded the link below. sign up for a free account; you don’t have to order the food, but it’s great to use the food tracker tool to estimate how much you’re eating in calories. it also suggests what food groups you eat throughout the day and when. you can also track your exercise in a variety of ways and it will give a fair estimate of how many calories one is burning through those things.

good luck! she can do it if she cuts down calories, gets up and gets moving, and cuts certain things out of her diet. she could be 190 by christmastime if she works hard, keeps a smile on her face, and gets encouragement from a good friend like you!

    Thats half her body weight!
It’s going to take some time.. alot of time! she needs to eat healthy but, make sure you tell her not to change her diet of what she eats drastically. she needs to do it slowly, and add much more excersize to her routines.. slowly but surely she will start to see a difference.

The difference between her and the people on the Biggest Loser is that they are EXTREMELY obese. Yes they lose 20 pounds a week because of their size.

It sounds like you REALLY wanna help her, so you’ll have to motivate her. You’ll need to be her weight loss partner.

Start a journal together. Write the amount of calories you eat per day. And no TRANS FAT!! Or Junky foods.

You’ll need to start light. Walks or jogs together for 30 minutes each day if possible! Longer if she’s really motivated.

Alwas remind her WHY she is doing it, because when 20 lbs isn’t coming off per week (that’s impossible by the way) she’s gonna get upset and depressed.

So for a start watch what you eat and do some cardio.

She won’t lose all that weight just dieting. She has to do exercises like running. Even then she won’t lose the weight as fast as she wants.

Okay well tell her to do these:
Cut soda from her diet COMPLETELY!!!!
Do not eat starches whatsoever! very little pasta (fist full of it.)
    Do 60 min of activity.
Run/ jog for like 20-30 min each day. its not that hard. keep at a brisk pace.
Drink at least 8 , cups of water each day ( 8fl ounces)
Eat alot of fruit and veggies, because they contain water and waterflushess out fat in you body.

    and just eat healthy.

there is no way that someone can lose 110 pounds in 2 months, maybe if you get lipo but that is it. It is possible to lose about 5 pounds in 10 days though. Just keep track ofcaloriess (eat about 1400 a day) And EXERCISE everyday.

Its not possible in two months, its extremely dangerous! Loosing 110 pounds can take up to a year or more and even 2 years.

-Start eating smaller portions of some foods, like eat 3/4 of a food or even 1/2. This will decrease the calories.
    -Try to limit fast food and junk food, you can make healthier substitutions such as;

-Frozen yogurt in place of ice cream
-Baked chips instead of regular chips
-80 calorie chocolate bars instead of those 150 to 300 calories chocolate bars
-Mini cakes(the ones with 100 calories or less) in place of a regular piece of cake.
-Plain popcorn with salt and no calorie butter spray instead of buttered popcorn
-Water in place of soda/pop(don’t drink diet soda/pop, its bad for you)

-Eat 4 to 5 meals a day, this will boost your metabolism.
-Get in more protein, this keeps you fuller (don’t go overboard with protein because too much protein puts stress on the kidneys)
-Drink more water, this also keeps you full.
-Don’t go for low fat diet cause it only matters how much calories you have taken in, not the fat.
