Diet/Fitness Help Please?

I am on a cut down diet where I am trying to get my body fat precentage really low. Anways, I was told by someone at the gym that I need to have a cheat meal once a week to "SHOCK" my metabolism, is this true? He said my body will get use to eating the same thing everyday that one day out the week I need to have a cheat meal. So, I just wanted to get your help on this and make sure its true? Thanks for the help!!!

I would agree with your friend that having a sort of "cheat" meal once a week is absolutly a good idea. Not only because it will force your bodies metabolism to abruptly shift gears but it will also give you a bit of physiological break. Eating the same thing day in and day out allows the body to adapt and anticipate what you will eat and how it will go about using that energy.

I recommend having a SHOCK day, say maybe one day a weekend? It will allow you to break up the "same old" Diet structure you have been on.

As for diets go you are trying to reduce your body fat effectively? I dont have any idea what sort of diet you are on but I used one from liftedathletics.com and it worked wonders for me. I play football and their diet allowed me to get to 9% body fat and cut.

Hope this helps best of luck on getting your goals.

Hi! Yeah I’ve been there. It can be pretty tough getting to that low percent in body fat. In my personal experience, cheat days helped me tremendously! I would cheat every Saturday. And besides it being great for your body, it can be like a reward for a great week of dieting :) I read an article and it has TONS of cheat meal info. http://stayleanandbuilt.webs.com/apps/blog/

I really hope this helps and good luck :)
