do you or should you detox or cleanse before starting a diet?
I keep reading that detoxing or cleansing your body before you start a Diet helps you lose weight quicker and I’m just wondering if it’s recommended or not…
It’s a load of money making rubbish.
The body is self detoxing.
We have skin, lungs, kidneys and liver to do it for us.
Colon cleanse just gives people holistic diarrhoea and upsets the delicate balance of flora in the gut.

"De-toxing" is just a waste of time, effort and money. Your body no more needs a de-tox than you need to fly to the moon. Ask you doctor.

detoxing is a good idea, but not necessary. it just gets rid of all the bad stuff in your body, so you don’t have to work through it later

I have to agree with Young@58 (and you put it so succinctly too, good show). Detoxing, cleansing–it’s all pseudo-science and not proven to do anything useful. Read this guy’s blog, it’s a very well-written argument: http://sciencebasedpharmacy.wordpress.com/2009/02/14/the-drugstore-detox-delusion/
Sorry to sound judgmental–if you believe in auras, crystal energy, and the like then I don’t mean to trample on your beliefs, but if you are a person of science and reason then you should be wary of these fads and keep investigating.
