Would a healthy diet pre surgery reduce swelling post surgery?

I have surgery in 10 days, for the past week and a half I have been paying attention to my calcium and protein intake I’ve also been taking supplements and eating heavy servings of fruits and vegetables. I am a vegetarian and after having my wisdom teeth removed I experienced no swelling at all. I am having corrective bone surgery in my face.

Does a good Diet pre and post surgery help your body heal quicker?

Absolutely!!

Proper nutrition goes a long way to optimizing wound healing and mitigating the negative effects of inflammation.

Note: Inflammation is a normal, healthy, necessary part of wound healing! The difficulty is that inflammation often out-lasts the beneficial effects, ultimately becoming more hindrance than help.
