DIET MENU AND WORKOUT ROUTINE FOR THE SUMMER. HELP PLEASE?
Can someone please help me find a Diet menu and a workout routine for the summer? I want to eat about 1500 calories a day. 5-6 small meals. And I am not very athletic so I would rather start working out slow rather than jumping in to a full blown workout. I have tried to look on some websites for menus but they seem all the same. I want a variety. I want someone to give me like 5 different things i can choose from to eat for each meal/snack. I want to limit my red meat intake, also. And for the workout routine, I don’t have access to a gym, so at home workouts would be best. Thank you.
This is what I did when I decided to lose ten pounds over the summer, I ended up losing 15 and I have never felt and looked so healthy!
Breakfast:
Low Fat Egg Whites(the kind that come in a carton) eat as much of this as you want since they are so low in calories, use these to make omelets or just eggs in the morning
On your omelet use low fat cheddar OR mozzarella along with vegetables like bell peppers and onions
To cook your omelet use extra virgin olive oil, this is really good for you and makes your food taste delicious bc it adds flavor to your food.
Glass of V8 or coffee or water
Or you could make french toast by pouring low fat egg whites onto whole wheat bread and sprinkling splenda and cinnamon on top, then pop them in the oven for a few minutes to allow them to cook, delicious!
Lunch:
Grilled chicken breast/grilled sirloin (a very low fat meat) over leafy greens, if you decide to use dressing DO NOT use creamy fatty dressings (IE ranch, blue cheese) instead try using vinaigrette or olive oil on your salad as these are low in fat and taste delicious.
Or you could do a sandwich on whole wheat bread with chicken breast slices or turkey breast with tomatoes and lettuce.
Dinner:
Try grilled salmon that has been marinated in olive oil and garlic
Place sliced vegetables (squash, eggplant, onions, carrots) on pan sprinkle with extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper and roast in the oven for approx 20 minutes
Grilled chicken is always good, is low in fat, you can also marinate this with balsamic vinaigrette then bake it, baking and grilling is prob the only method of cooking i used since this is the only method that doesn’t put more fat into the food…
Pair this with more salad, try a salad with almonds, cranberries and green leafy vegetables and a raspberry vinaigrette.
For snacks in between your meals try eating almonds, low fat string cheese, and jello, this will keep you feeling full and keep your blood sugar up
For exercise try walking/jogging around your neighborhood, cardio is the best thing you can do to lose weight. Or try do yoga at home, there are some great DVDs out there you just have to look!
Good luck!
