Fasting for 2 days - Weight Loss!?! (HELP!)?
If I fast for approximately 60 hours - what kind of weight loss can this achieve? 60 hours with only plenty of water.

(I know this isn’t a long-term solution, just answer the question anyway..)

    Thank you.

You’d be better off eating like 1200 calories a day, then that. I don’t advice fasting to anyone. You’ll loose like water weight, and if you go straight to eating alot after, you will gain weight.

Essentially nothing, maybe a few pounds.
You will gain more weight once you start eating again than you lost not eating.
Your body goes into starvation and will store anything it gets.

Actually, You will probably gain weight. Your body will think its being starved so when you go back into eating food it will cling more to the food its getting and store it as fat.
If you want to lose weight. I’d suggest eating healthy portioned food.
    Good luck. =D

Not eating will send your body into starvation mode. When you start eating your body will hang on to everything because it thinks it has to in order to survive. You will lose more weight eating small meals or snacks every 2 hours. That will speed up your metabolism and keep your blood sugar level which will make you less hungry too.

    Here is my story.

I lost 50 pounds in 5 months. The doctor said that I did it at good rate. I keep it off for over 2 years, the due to some extenuating circumstances I gained 15 pounds back…but am on way to losing it.

I did this by eating smaller, snack size meals, every 2-3 hours. This keeps your metabolism going so you burn more calories, and keeps your blood sugar level so you won’t feel as hungry.

I highly suggest foods high in protein and fiber. Low fat, but NOT non-fat. Drink plenty of water. Keep your meals small…..most of them 200 calories or less. There are a million 100 calorie snack products out there to help. Dinner can be a little more….I love Lean Cuisine dinners. Don’t skip dessert! I personally love anything chocolate and ice cream is great. I like Skinny Cow ice creams or Bryers / Dryers double churn ice cream. Eat foods you like or you won’t stick to it.

Go for walks every day or at least do some sort of exercise program. But walks are easy to fit into anyone’s schedule and give you time to unwind and think.

Good luck….I hope you reach your goal.

When you fast your metabolism shuts down and begins storing everything into fat cells which keeps you from losing weight. You must eat plenty of protein (at least 30grams within 3hrs of waking). also if you drink that much water your potassium will drop really low and may cause swelling in your extremeties and believe me that is a pain! Good luck with your weight loss however you decide to do it.

you would probably lose 4 or 5 pounds(if you’re lucky), depending on the weight you start at. but all your losing is water, even if you keep drinking it, because you are esentially flushing your system. so if you’re already thin-ish, you will "look" thinner, but may only drop a few lbs.

If fasting for 2 days you will lose mostly water weight. Depending upon how much you are retaining, that will be between 1 and 2 pounds. The thing about fasting for 60 hours is that as soon as you eat your first meal after fasting you will most likely overindulge and will undo any positive efforts.

The best way to fast is fast for 24 hours eat a light meal the following day, and then fast again for another 24 hours.
