Ideas for making an obstacle course for young, playful rats?
Hello, my name is Hailey and I have six rats. Three are older (2 years), but I recently got three more females that are only 3 months old. I’ve never had rats this young before- and even though I love them to death- I’m going crazy trying to keep them entertained. They have a very large cage and come out on my bed with me for at 4 to 5 hours per day (with my older rats too)- but it’s still not enough to keep their energy level down!!! Anyway, I’ve been looking at different sites and I think I’m going to put some safe baby toys in their pen to play with (which I never thought of before) and I want to make an obstacle course.
I’m not very handy with tools though- so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for an easy-to-make rat obstacle course. Some materials I thought would work well is paper milk cartons and cardboard boxes… but I have no idea what to do with them! Please help!!! Thanks so much!
P.S.- Any tips for how to keep energetic rats happy are welcome!!!! : )

You could use the cardboard inside of toilet/kitchen rolls as tubes leading into boxes at diferent heights
