Is this a good meal plan or diet for a teen?

Im 15 years old 5′ 9" and 175 lb . I play sports but now im limited to only once a week since my season eneded. Im planning on goin to the gym everyday or every othrr day for lifting( switching off between upper and lower body) and to also run or swim. This is my meal plan that i want to stick with :
morning-1 bowl of cereal with 2%milk or just like a apple and a glass of water
lunch - water. Turkey and cheese on whole wheat. A fruit
dinner- eithrr grilled chicken or salmon or a salad. With different kinds of veggies
snacks - mixed nuts or fruit

I don’t think that plan has enough calories or protein for someone as active as you. If you are going to be active every single day, especially if you are going to do lifting, you will have to add at least one more meal with protein, protein to your breakfast, and extra calories to the plan you have. The only exception is if you are either trying to drop weight or tone rather than build muscle.

That sounds great! But try eating more veggies than fruit, if you can, as snacks etc. Fruit is great and healthy, but it can have a lot of sugar, whereas veggies have very low sugar and all the health benefits!

OK so this is what i have learned/ what i am using to lose my own weight.
    1. LOTS of water. Drink at least 8 8oz. glasses of water daily. It washes out the sludge crap in your system.
    2. We should all do this anyways…but cut out the junk food. If you can..don’t eat a single snack other than like one a week.
    3. Also another thing we should do anyways. EXERCISE. Do some running if you can. Then some things like a total gym or something. The total gym doesn’t exactly help you lose weight but as you lose weight you gain muscle, so you can look toned after you lose the weight of course.
    4. Eat green fruits and veggies. Try to cut out the things high in natural sugar, like bananas.
    5. Don’t eat anything other than lean meats. Salmon, catfish, tuna, chicken are all good types of meat.

Sounds good just make sure your day goes, breakfast, snack lunch snack dinner, and if you go to bed more then 3 hours after dinner snack. Andbe sure every meal and snack has either protein or dairy, so if your dinner is salad, be sure to put some cheese, or chicken on it. Doing this will help your body stay healthy, and energized and keep you from feeling tired and craving sugars and carbs. If you are ever hungry, you are not eating enough, so make sure you aren’t hungry. Sounds like your on the right track though!

Well, your meal plan is a little… slimming. You should eat a wholesome breakfast, not just cereal or an apple. I suggest probably cereal, toast, and an apple. Or maybe some eggs (protein) and pancakes. Don’t eat just one measly portion for breakfast. If you eat only a little for breakfast, then you’re going to get even hungrier and woof down more food in lunch and dinner.

Make sure to balance out water and milk. Drink lots of water to get hydrated and about three glasses of milk, for your bones to get stronger. You need to be able to handle all of that physical exercise.

The dinner choice is good, but I’m expecting a little variety. You won’t eat salmon and chicken your whole life will you? ;) You should try rice as well, it will complete the wheat section of your daily wheat portions in the food pyramid.

Remember, you’re still a kid. It’s completely normal to eat something sweet or junky. Eat a cookie or something once in a while. Maybe make eating a cookie as a reward for training. :)
