What is a good diet plan for pregnant teens?

I have been pregnant for almost two months. What would be a good Diet for me and my baby? I get nauseous really easily right now(of course) but just need some advice. I want to stay fit. Am I able to work out still?

Oh boy! Yes, let’s tell our young friend not to worry about fitness during pregnancy. That’s a fantastic idea! Maybe she can grow up to be like 2/3 of the rest of the country, overweight or obese!

Listen kid, definitely keep up the workout plan. Walking and swimming are great. I go for an hour each day (I am 26 weeks along). Eat balanced meals, plenty of fiber, lots of water, and don’t go under about 2000 calories a day. Make sure to take your prenatal vitamins and anything else your doc prescribes.

Don’t go nuts cutting calories or binging. Pregnancy is no excuse to eat anything you want. You’ll hear again and again, "your body will just gain what it wants to gain" or "you can just lose it later." This is FALSE. You can control how much you gain if you are careful and diligent. Stay in the guidelines suggested for you by your doctor, not too much or too little. Many women CAN’T take off the baby pounds, because they put on too darned many to begin with.

Personally I’m not big into eating meat (I’m not a vegetarian, I just don’t like it much) so I add protein by drinking lots of milk. I eat small meals. It’s not so bad, and by the time you hit the end of trimester 2 your stomach will be compressed enough so you won’t be able to eat a big meal anyway.

Keep it tight sister! The healthier and more fit you are going into delivery, the better your birth experience will be and the faster you’ll heal. Don’t use your pregnancy as an excuse to become a butterball, like so many women do.

Pregnancy is not the time to worry about staying fit. Eat the basic food groups and after you have the baby then you can worry about loosing all the weight, For now just go for walks and take it easy, since the first three months are the most critical.

If you do a lot of exercise anyway there is no reason why you can’t stay active, but avoid anything too strenuous and no stomach crunches.
Always check with your GP just in case, if you get sickness a lot but your active try having lots of plain carbs i.e jacket pots, rice etc lots of water and fruit and vege. Keep your diet varied.
Try ginger biscuits for sickness keep a packet at the side of your bed and nibble one before you get out of bed each morning. Bananas seemed to set my sickness off personally

Talk to your doctor about any exercise but there shouldnt be too many reasons why you cant carry on with your fitness if its just light work out- they just wont encourage you to be trying anything new ie if you already just do long walks in a day then carry on with it but dont just start running marathons.
As for the eating try and eat more fruit and vegetables and just make sure all meats are throroughly cooked, avoid processed foods which contain high bacteria.

Any mum to be should eat healthily and look after themselves, whether you are a teenager or older. Are you taking Folic Acid? This is very important during the first trimester as it helps prevent birth defects such as Spina Bifida. Try and get sources of calcium, iron, protein, vitamins (not too much Vitamin A as it is advised too much of this can cause problems also) Omega 3- you should eat fish twice a week when you are pregnant, oily fish if you can. Avoid some types of food such as raw egg, some cheeses (i cannot remember which cheeses, do some research online, or even better ask your midwife/ doctor, they will be able to advise you in more detail). You can still excercise during pregnancy, i like to do plenty of walking as this is not very strenuous. Again, a doctor will be able to advise you more, though avoid excercise which involves contact sport (such as self defence, rugby Lol). This is what your doctor/ midwife is here for, you should feel able to ask them anything, i always have at least several questions each appointment lol!
Good luck and cograts, God Bless =] ~x~

Pregnancy is not a time to go for a diet. Just keep eating healthy and go for your checkup. You should be gaining weight not trying to lose weight. If you don’t want to gain weighed then don’t get pregnant.

You are a pregnant woman and need the same things any other pregnant woman needs.
Be sure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables first off. There are certain things your body will need more of, but for the most part I just eat healthy and don’t use my pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever I want. Do exercise that isn’t too strenuous like walking everyday or everyother day. ALso swimming is great, especialy as you start to feel all the aches and pains of being pregnant, it really is a life saver. There is really no reason you cant exercise, just dont overdo it and stay hydrated. I haven’t followed any kind of diet plan. I just eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise. And me and baby are super healthy.
Also don’t worry too much about the weight you gain. If you are eating right for the most part (who says we cant have our ding dongs?) and doing some exercise he weight will come off quickly. ALso rapid weight gain could be due to water retention so if at any point you feel like you gained too much weight and are doing the right things don’t try to diet or cut back. Just know that you are young and fortunate that it will come off rather easily.
    Good luck!

Hi I’m a pregnant teen too. I am at 32 weeks and I have kept my baby healthy the whole time. The doctors tell me to get plenty of fruits and veggies, to stay hydrated and drink a lot of water, and well, my craving is milk, and they told me that that is a great thing because it is great for the baby. Try to get low-fat milk because if you do drink a lot of it you don’t really want all of that fat. The best thing to do is walk when you are pregnant. But soon it will be hard to even do that when you get bigger. They also say swimming is good too (which is nice because of the hot weather that is here!) -but be careful of the sun because you get burnt easily when you are pregnant. Here is a website where you can track your baby’s growth, and also see how your life is changing. http://www.babycenter.com <I have an account on there and it is really amazing to see how the baby changes each week! Hope this helps and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. Feel free to yahoo im me or message me if you have any other questions.
