What’s a diet plan a teen can actually STICK to & that actually WORKS?

My prom is in 3 1/2 weeks, & before then I’m looking to get rid of maybe 5 pounds. I know that it isn’t impossible, but it seems like whenever I workout or anything, I don’t lose any weight. Since I’m really impatient, I end up stopping workouts after about a week if I don’t see any improvement, so I know that I probably need to get better at being patient.
Can someone give me a Diet & exercise plan that I can stick with, for even that short period of time?

first get on a scheduale: eating and exercising.

eating:
eat healthy foods…this includes: strawberries, carrots, tomatos, celery, oranges, bannanas….etc.
NOT ONLY…will you see improvements in how your weight, you will (scientifically proven) feel better in yourself…and it healthy foods are proven to clear skin and improve hair, nails, eyesight. Also to clear skin and get healthy drink LOTS of water. bring water bottles to school…and constantly drink. Water helps because you are getting icky things out of your system.
Breakfast: Healthy cerial (you can google healthiest/best cerials) with cup of fruit onside and water.
Lunch: Instead of fruit…try some veggies…also pair this with a sandwhich or bagel.
Dinner: Eat normally (if you want to stay good, try pairing it with celery) . One rule to dinner, dont eat any junk food…!!! EVER! (and no dessert…if you want results.

Exercise: Get on a scheduale. Exercise is also proven to not only improve weight…but sleep and how you feel about yourself. Try going on a run everyday at a certain time…this way, you will get used to it! Next, do stretches every morning (around 30 min and google good stretches)

Also…you dont want to GAIN MUSCLE…you want to loose weight…therefore good exercises would be…jumping rope….ALOT of crunches (try 3 sets of 50 a day, every day) jumping rope…(also you should google exercises that help lose weight in a certain area…like your arms/legs.)

HOW TO: Be patient…as i said, get on a scheduale…therefore, when you keep eating fruit…and keeping doing an hour of exercise everyday you become used to it…and you WILLLL get results.
try to not look at your weight every time after you workout…look at it once a week, and then you will see results.

That is a very good goal! Anyway, exercise takes longer then what your giving it. Try only having a dessert once or twice a week, and maybe cut out red meat for this short amount of time then start eating it again after prom.

    There isn’t one.

You cannnot lose that much weight safely in such a short amount of time, all you can lose is fluid which will come back if you drink anything so you will be crazy thirsty for the whole time and you will look bad and "dried out" and more than likely feel so sick you wont want to go to the prom.

And dont listen to the spam that WILL be posted here trying to get you to go to a pay website with some amazing diet, this is posted on every health question and is a scam.

well to be honest if that picture’s you then i wouldn’t say you need to but if you really think so then all you need to do is eat less and excercise more. Thats how my friend lost 2 stone in 2 months.

Strictly drink only water because soda can ruin a days worth of exercise in a second. Try eating only foods with fiber. Since fiber doesn’t digest, you won’t gain calories from it and it helps you go to the bathroom more often. Try running in the evenings after school and then before bed try like 50 sit ups. Try and stay off the junk food. Hope this is simple and helps =]

i can give you one that will make you lose 3 lbs, but only because the healthy weight to lose is 1 lb a week.

ill make it as short & to the point as i can as possible.

Nutrition - eat 5-6 small meals a day (LOW IN CALORIES), the reason is is that if you eat 3 meals a day , your body will store fat because it thinks it wont be fed for the next 3-5 hours, but if you eat 5-6 small low calorie meals (about 300 calories each meal) , your body will constantly have its metabolism up & will not store fat, but burn it.

for breakfast have you have many options, ill give you a few
1)1-2 cup of cereal - 1 cup of low fat or fat free milk
    2) 3 egg whites on 2 whole grain breads
    3) banana smoothie - 1-2 bananas -1 cup of fat or low fat milk

    2-3 hours later
    1)2 apples - some grapes
2)2 bananas - with some grapes
    3) 1-2 low fat yogurts

    2-3 hours later : lunch

    NO FRIED / FAST FOODS

eat somethin healthy like a chicken salad with no dressing or a sandwich on whole grain bread

basically keep your in between meals small in calories. for dinner have a healthy serving of vegetables with lean meat.

for exercise , do at LEAST 30 minutes of cardio (if i were you id do 60 minutes) for 3-4 times a week, the more you do the more you COULD LIKELY be able to lose 1-2 lbs a week. go jogging/running & listen to your i-pod/mp3 to make it a better experience. or jump rope for 30 minutes if you dont want to go outside and run.

STICK WITH THIS DIET, since its only for 3 weeks you shouldnt have to give up, i have to stick with my diet for another month or 2 to get my bodyfat to a decent level, you are lucky :)

*oh yea, replace all sodas/juices with water, trust me on this one.

good luck, have fun at your prom :)

Cut back 500 calories from your diet DAILY and burn another 500 calories through exercise DAILY. This will allow you to lose 2 pounds weekly. The amount of calories doesn’t need to be totally exact. Losing that many calories through exercise may seem discouraging, but its really simple if you cut it into parts. For example, 2.5 miles of running/walking is equal to 250 calories. You could run 2.5 miles at 2 different times during the day. Always do weight training before the running and other cardio, and while running change your pace often. Like, run fast for 2 minutes and slow down for 3 minutes, JUST AN EXAMPLE. Hope this helps :)
