<p>4. Try to cut down on saturated fats and sugars. Do not totally cut down on fats because your body needs it to stay healthy. Basically, fats are categorized into saturated and unsaturated fat. The former has high amount of cholesterol and the latter has lower amounts that lowers blood cholesterol. Cut down only on foods that are high in saturated fat such meat pies, sausages, hard cheese, butter and lard, pastry, cakes and biscuits, cream and the like. Also monitor your sugar intake because aside from causing decay, sugary foods can also be high in calories that contribute to weight gain. </p>
<p>5. Eat less salt. Too much salt can raise your blood pressure. </p>
<p>6. Drink lots and lots of water to keep your body well-hydrated.</p>

<p>How do I get them to change over to the new food?<br />
<br />Unsure if anyone makes it for ferrets, but I can tell you of some that are made for dogs and cats.  Bravo has a line of raw meats made with 100% meat from one animal and no other ingredient.  This is their basics and their blend line.  I know of chicken, turkey, lamb and beef.  However, they are not balanced, which should make it ideal for use with ferrets.  There are no added vitamins or minerals, so you would have to add in the vitamins they need, unless someone else makes a blend of vitamins for ferrets.  </p>
<p>Nature&#8217;s Variety also has a line of frozen raw food and it is all balanced.  You would have to check the guaranteed analysis to see if the protein content is suitable for ferrets.  However, I&#8217;m not sure which line of their products don&#8217;t have added organic fruits and vegetables. </p>
<p>There are many other manufactures of frozen raw food-Stella and Chewy&#8217;s, Primal, and Northwest Natural&#8217;s,  but I don&#8217;t know enough about their products to relate it to ferrets.</p>

The one I personally find the most reasonable is for your health. I have met several people who have become vegetarian or vegan for &quot;health reasons&quot;. So I&#8217;m wondering, what are these health benefits? Is meat not healthy? Why does cutting meat from your diet make you a healthier person?<br />
<br />Well, first of all, meat rots in your stomach, that&#8217;s disgusting to me.</p>
<p>Lower blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, less obesity and consequently less heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, mortality, prevents cardiovascular disease and diabetes.</p>
<p>Vegetarians eat more antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotenes and phytochemicals. Phyotochemicals are components in plants that help to prevent disease. Antioxidants decrease the chance of getting heart disease, cancer and other diseases.</p>
<p>Eating red meat increases the chance of dying from cancer of the breast and colon, heart disease and strokes. Meat eaters have much higher rates of cancer than vegetarians. Cancer and cardiovascular diseases are linked to diets with a high amount of saturated fat (meat) and with a low amount of fiber (meat).</p>
<p>Animal products are high in sodium, which causes the blood to retain water and also causes plaque to build up in the arteries, lowering the flow of blood, which are major causes of high blood pressure.<br />
According to a study done in England for 12 years of 5,015 meat eaters and 6,115 vegetarians, it was found that vegetarians had 40% less chance of getting cancer. </p>
